My 2017 NFL Mock Draft (5 rounds) Empty My 2017 NFL Mock Draft (5 rounds)

Post by ophion1031 April 18th 2017, 2:09 am

This is why I haven't been posting on the site much lately. Been putting a ton of time into my mock draft. I finished it up tonight and did the full 7 rounds of the draft, but this fucking computer fucked up and I ended up losing some of rounds 6 and 7. I didn't want to spend any more time on this thing, so I just got rid of rounds 6 and 7 and made it a 5 round mock draft. I think it's pretty damn good, but the draft is pretty unpredictable and there will be plenty of trades that are impossible to anticipate. I'm sure this thing could be picked apart and people will give me shit for only having one QB in the 1st round and one QB in the 2nd round, but I just don't see too many QB's in this draft being successful. this is better than the mocks I see from all of the 'experts' on the subject but one thing -- QB's -- I agree that trubisky will go to the jets at #6 but I think Watson will go earlier than #27. I think the browns take him at #12 and then Houston takes mahomes at #25 and then kizer and webb will go in round 2. not sure why you have the qb's going so late.

as a 49ers fan I would be happy if they get the players you have them taking. Solomon Thomas is a beast and davis webb could compete for the starting QB job right away. beckwith would be a good backup mlb who could develop into a starter in no time.

Yeah, I know that teams get desperate for QB's, and even if a QB has a low grade there is a good chance they are still drafted higher than they should be. I also think the Browns will take Watson at #12 if he is on the board, but I had O.J. Howard still on the board at #12 so I put him there over Watson. Howard is too good to pass on if he is available at that point and the Browns need a TE..... IF the Browns get the players I have them taking in this mock draft, they will be in good shape for the future with a dominant pass rusher, a really good young TE, two young DB's who should both start, and they end up getting a possible franchise QB anyways in round 3.

I don't see the Giants taking Njoku in round 1. They will take either Christian McCaffrey or Dalvin Cook if either are available and if not I think they will take Ryan Ramczyk or Cam Robinson.

Not that Njoku isn't great. He would be a nice addition and TE is a need but I think RB and OT are bigger needs, which you have them addressing in rounds 2 and 3. Honestly I would be satisfied if they get the players you have mocked to them here.

The Browns would really be a force in a couple years if they got all of those players but I have a feeling that they will trade the #1 pick for a 1st rounder this year and a 1st rounder next year. The QB market in next year's draft should be much better.

I saw a new mock draft at NFL.com that had the Giants taking Njoku. Actually, the same mock draft had a lot of the same picks as Ophion.

Good mock draft. Ranks right up there with all of the so-called experts drafts I have seen.

You didn't get many picks right. I see that some guys you have to the right teams but they were picked in a different round. Quite a few picks you got the player really close to the spot where they were actually picked. Good job. Holds up when compared to the mock drafts I seen from the expert analysts.
