Big 12 conference expansion
It looks as though the conference will add 2-4 teams. I'm a Boise State fan so I am pulling for them to get in although they might not fair as well in football, and in basketball they would get crushed. If I had to guess I would say the schools getting in would be BYU, Houston, Cincinnati and either UCONN, UCF or Memphis.

Houston is on the rise. Moving into a P5 conference would be huge for them.

Re: Big 12 conference expansion
I think it's gonna be 4 teams joining. Houston would be a good one to have. My top 4 would be Houston, UCF, BYU and Cinci, BUT I'm not sure how Cinci joining would effect ISU football recruiting if at all. ISU's coaches recruit Cincinnati pretty heavily and the Bear Cats offer every area recruit that ISU has offered. In a bigger conference, maybe Cinci would be able to pull some of those recruits. I still like them and hope they join the Big 12 in all sports.

Ophion, I think it was you that was discussing UNLV being a potentially good candidate to join the Big 12 if the Raiders were to move to Vegas. It made sense, but I am not seeing them mentioned anywhere in the expansion discussions around the net. Seems like Houston is a lock while Cinci, UCONN, BYU and a handful of others are wait and see type of deals.

UNLV joining was something I heard on the radio a few months ago and it made sense. I haven't heard anything about it since then so I seriously doubt that the Big 12 is even considering them. If they do move up to a bigger conference I bet it will be the Pac-12. One interesting rumor I heard is that UCLA is possibly interested in the Big 12, but I'm not sure how much truth is behind that.

UCLA won't leave the Pacific 12 I can tell you that right now.

The latest rumor I'm hearing is that the Big 12 is interested in bringing in Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Colorado State. I'm completely fine with that as it would give Iowa State some games close to me, and I think all four schools would be good additions.

3 Pac-12 schools? Are they even interested in joining the Big 12? I just don't see it happening. The Pac-12 has all the stability a school could want in a conference whereas the Big 12 does not seem to have it at the moment.

I have no idea where the rumor(s) started or if any of these schools are interested. I assume Colorado State is interested, but Arizona and Arizona State are head scratchers. I could see Colorado wanting back in. Have heard they are not happy in the Pac-12.
